The National Capital Area Council Jewish Committee on Scouting invites ALL Scouts to participate in a merit badge fair; additionally, Jewish Scouts are invited to work on Jewish religious awards:

- Ner Tamid Award for Boy Scouts and Venturers, Grades 6-9

- Etz Chaim Award for Boy Scouts and Venturers, Grades 9 +

Merit Badge Fair Information

A list of participating merit badge counselors is included with this flyer. Scouts (not parents!) who wish to earn merit badges at the Fair should register by sending an email message to Dr. Julian Tishkoff, tishkoffj@asme.org or (301)424-8469, with the following information:

Scout’s name, e-mail address, phone, rank, unit type (troop/crew) and number, district, and merit badge first choice and second choice (if first choice is unavailable).

Send this information to Dr. Tishkoff no later than October 30. Enrollment for each merit badge may be limited, and you will be notified if the merit badge you want to take becomes unavailable.

At check-in, Scouts should have a blue card signed by their Scoutmasters, and $8.00 to pay for the cost of the class and refreshments. Some merit badges require advance preparation. All scouts should contact the counselors for their badges in advance of the course in order to complete their merit badge prerequisites before the Fair.

Refreshments will be provided. Please do not bring your own food or drinks to the Fair.
