Kentlands Day Parade Color Guard

Color Guard participants are needed to lead the kickoff parade for this big annual event.

As many of you know, Kentlands Day is this Saturday,  May 7th. The Kentlands Community Foundation, the sponsoring organization, has asked if Troop 1097 would like to participate in the parade as color guard that morning.  We could march with the very bare minimum of 5 boys, but 10 or more would be best.  Cub Scout Pack 221 will be bringing a few boys, but more (bigger) guys are needed.

The boys will need to be lined up no later than 9:30 behind Whole Foods Market. The parade begins at 10 and should be completed by 10:45, at the latest.  The color guard would be placed at the start so their completion time would probably be closer to 10:30. The troop will bring the flags and banner.

Please respond ASAP so that we can make a final decision as to whether we have the representation we need to participate.  I realize that the advance notice is not great, and that there are many commitments that you might already have,  but if some families are planning to attend already, this would be a great opportunity for our boys to shine in the community.

Class A uniform required, of course.

REMINDER:  Nick's Eagle COH is at 5:00 on May 7.  Scouts should not choose this activity in place of Nick's COH.  If a scout can spare an hour on Saturday morning for the parade, super.  But we still hope to see everyone later that day for Nick's Eagle COH.
