Finishing up our three-in-a-row service projects is our Going Nuts project.
Each year, the Maryland Dept. of Natural Resources collects nuts of native trees to plant so that the seedlings that sprout from them can be used in reforestation projects in the state.
We collect nuts throughout September, and then on October 1st, we'll meet at the IWLA to collect nuts there. It's a beautiful time of year to spend a couple of hours outside, it's fun to use the nut-collectors, and it feels great to be helping to make our state a more beautiful place.
